PROXON APM 2K is a two-component acrylic polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing system forming a flexible membrane. It ensures water tightness, pro- tects concrete, masonry, and is ideal for under screed and tile applications.

Usage

Ideal for waterproofing sunken slabs, kitch- ens, wet areas, roofs, basements, terraces, and water reservoirs. Protects concrete from carbonation, chloride attack, and dampness. Serves as a waterproof mortar for tiles, marble, and exposed surfaces.

Application

Surface preparation: Proper surface preparation ensures optimal performance. Concrete and masonry must be 28 days old with less than 5% moisture. The surface should be dry, free from defects, dust, oil, or loose particles. Clean using wire brushing, grit blasting, or high-pressure water jetting. Construction joints must be checked for water tightness, and gaps should be grout- ed with polymer-modified or non-shrink mortar. Damaged bitumen membranes must be fully removed, while sound primers can be coated directly.

Mixing and Application: ProXon ProAPM 2K is supplied in two pre-measured parts. Mix powder into liquid using a slow-speed

mixer (100-150 rpm). Do not add water. Apply by brush or roller in two coats, ensur- ing 1mm thickness. Fiber mesh reinforce- ment is recommended for joints. Allow 4-5 hours between coats. Before cement screed placement, sprinkle coarse sand on the final wet coat for better adhesion. A pro- tective render mortar is advised for areas with heavy load or hydrostatic pressure.

Shelf Life

PROXON APM 2K should be stored in a cool, dry, and shaded area. Shelf life is 12 months if kept away from sunlight, extreme tem- peratures, and humidity. In tropical climates, store in a cooled environment to prevent deterioration.

Safety

PROXON APM 2K is non-hazardous but requires caution. Wear gloves, goggles, and protective clothing. Rinse skin or eyes with water if splashed. If swallowed, seek medi- cal help immediately. Store properly and refer to the MSDS for details.
