PROXON SEALING COMPOUND

PROXON SEALING COMPOUND
PROXON SEALING COMPOUND is a bitumen- based sealant for horizontal concrete joints, resistant to temperature changes, complying with IS 1834, Grade A.

What

PROXON SEALING COMPOUND is a bitumen-based sealing compound for concrete joints, suitable for all horizontal joints. It resists temperature variations & complies with IS 1834, Grade A standards, ensuring durability & reliable performance in demanding conditions.

Why?

Usage

Suitable for road joints, runways, bridge joints, garages, filling stations, warehouses, and construction joints. Also ideal for sec- ondary containment areas and floors and walls of artificial water ponds to ensure durable, sealed joints.

How to use?

Application

Surface preparation:

Ensure the joint is dry and clean before applying Proxon Proseal Bituminous Seal- ing Compound. Clean joints thoroughly using compressed air to remove debris and dust, ensuring proper adhesion to joint walls. Surface dust will prevent bonding and may cause the sealant to peel away.

Application:

Apply Proxon Proseal Primer evenly to the joints using a brush or spray. Allow it to dry completely. Open the Proxon Proseal Bitu- minous Sealing Compound drum and heat it to 180°C – 200°C, stirring slowly for unifor- mity. Complete melting takes 2-3 hours.

Pour the molten (190°C – 200°C) Proxon Proseal Bituminous Sealing Compound into the joint using an extended spout, allowing it to flow through evenly.

Cleaning:

Clean tools once after use. Fully cured ma- terial requires mechanical removal.

Packing

20 Kg Metal drum

Coverage

PROXON SEALING COMPOUND covers 100 meters of running joint at 25 mm depth. Approximate usage: 36 kg for 12 mm, 54 kg for 18 mm, and 75 kg for 25 mm. Actual coverage varies with substrate, application method, and conditions.

Shelf Life

Store PROXON SEALING COMPOUND in tightly sealed, dry containers at 18°C – 25°C, away from direct sunlight. Properly stored, it has a shelf life of 12 months. Reseal partly used containers immediately after use.

Note

Do not apply on wet surfaces or during rain. Avoid frequent heating and cooling cycles, as this can reduce the sealant’s perfor- mance and durability over time, affecting adhesion and overall protective properties.

Safety

Avoid prolonged skin contact. Wear protec- tive gear for hands and eyes. Wash skin splashes with soap and water. For eye con- tact, rinse with clean water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.
