PROXON MASTIC PAD

PROXON MASTIC PAD
PROXON MASTIC PAD a durable mastic pad specifically engineered for in-situ concrete, offering excellent compression recovery, chemical resistance, and long-lasting performance.

What

PROXON MASTIC PAD, made from wa- ter-resistant, bitumen-impregnated cane fiber, is a high-performance, eco-friendly alternative to plastic fillers. Available in 4ft x 2ft sizes with thicknesses of 10-25 mm, it offers 95% recovery after 50% compression.

Where?

Expansion joint filler strips are essential for concrete traffic surfaces like highways, runways, and streets. They are used in driveways, pavements, and reinforced structures such as piers and retaining walls, ensuring durability in various con- crete works and paving.

Usage

Expansion joint fillers are used in various applications, including external wall clad- ding for structural joints, traffic surfaces like roads and runways, internal concrete floors with heating, roofs, basements, water-re- sistant structures, and reinforced concrete supports like piers.

Physical Properties

PROXON MASTIC PAD Expansion Joint Fillers meet ASTM-D. 1/51-83/0.545-84, Depart- ment of Transport London 1986, and B.S. 1142 standards. They provide strong perfor- mance with an 80/84% recovery rate after compression to 50% thickness and low moisture absorption due to bitumen impregnation. Suitable for concrete paving and structural construction, these fillers are ideal for typical joints with optional bitu- men content adjustments.

Extrusion: When compressed to 50% of its thickness with three edges restrained, PROXON MASTIC PAD shows an extrusion of 1-2 mm at the free edge (permitted up to 6.4 mm).

Compression: PROXON MASTIC PAD com- presses 50% under loads of 689 to 5171 kPa without losing more than 0.1 to 0.2% by weight, well below the 3% permitted limit.

Durability & Handling: PROXON MASTIC PAD is tough and retains its thickness and surface finish under load and stacking. Its bitumen impregnation prevents water absorption and ensures long-lasting dura- bility in severe environmental conditions.

How to use?

The PROXON MASTIC PAD is brought flush with the concrete slab and extends full depth, placed about ¼ inch below the sur- face. A suitable sealant is applied at the top or bottom of the slab to close the joint against hydrostatic pressure. PROXON MASTIC PAD is fabricated to receive dowel bars, and the joint assembly is placed before pouring concrete.
